My Coding Summer Camp Experience – Damilola

I was supposed to go for a different camp in Lagos but I couldn’t go because of the global pandemic, I was quite sad until I heard about Uwani hub Summer coding camp, the entry fee was free and they provided us our necessary needs and provisions. We were taught how to code, and basic digital skills.

I was taught how to use the internet in an appropriate manner, I also learnt about HTML, CSS, Visual design and robotics. Mary Job the founder of HdyTech taught us how to make websites on WordPress. I created mine here.

We also went to Yemoji – a natural swimming pool, where we played and enjoyed ourselves in the water.

We went on a tour to the farm to water the plants and surprisingly I saw crocodiles in the stream and monkeys. Also, a man told us about robotics and taught us how to make bots.

Art and craft was the most fun part of this camp, I learnt how to make fish bowl, wigs, pencil holder with cups and cement. Every evening we played different kind of games and watch movies in the night.

I want to thank the host of the camp, the Facilitators, and those that prepare our meals for us, I say a very big thanks to Uwani hub. I hope this camp continues next year, as I will be glad to join.
